Everest three passes trek, also known as , ‘Khumbu’s high passes’ is a unique adventurous trek that takes beyond from standard Everest base camp trail crossing completely mesmerizing and incredible passes of Everest region, Renjo La Pass (5,388m /17,513 ft), Cho La Pass (5,380 m /17,650 ft)and Kongma La Pass (5,535m / 18,159). These are undoubtedly the most unique and awesome destination a truly a lifetime experience for the hardcore trekkers this is totally a combination of all highlights that trekking in Khumbu has to offer, this trip leads to the world’s highest Everest Camp with a view of notorious Khumbu Icefall and its Glaciers. This trip is purely for hard trekkers a true adventure in the most popular Everest region of Nepal within the highest world heritage at Sagarmatha National Park.

Unlike mountaineering and climbing expeditions, this Everest three passes offers strenuous effort but with less technical skill and challenge, but an adventurous challenge of its own kind as this trek leads to the three most incredible high passes of Everest / Khumbu region via hidden trails enclosed with giant peaks.
Traversing these three high passes is a pure challenge for some people with a lifetime experience.

This adventure starts with a short scenic flight to Lukla from here following the main Everest Base Camp trekking route up to Namche Bazaar. Namche is a prosperous trading town and the capital of the Khumbu region with official’s headquarters, ATMs, Internet, Shops and other facilities. After good acclimatization in Namche Bazaar, the route leads to Thame village and Lungdhen,  then moving on to cross the first pass at Renjo-la which takes down to the beautiful mountain lake at Gokyo, spending two nights in Gokyo, then heading towards Everest Base Camp crossing another second pass of Cho-la often spelled as Tsho-la. Then the trail leads to Everest base camp via Gorakshep, the flat field below Kala Patthar, 5,545 meters / 18,192 ft and lofty Mt. Pumori, after a wonderful time at Base Camp and hike to Kalapatthar with tremendous awesome scenery of surrounding giant mountains with Everest in mere distance, the trek leads back to Lobuche for the last and the highest pass of this trip at Khongma-la 5,535 meters then heading back on the main trail back to Lukla via the famed Thyangboche Monastery and Namche Bazaar concluding this mind-blowing adventure with Sherpa Mountaineering Expeditions with a short scenic flight back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Fly to Lukla (2,886m) & trek to Phakding (2,640 m) 03 hrs
Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) 05 hrs.
Day 03: Rest at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
Day 04: Trek to Thame (3,800 m) 05 hours.
Day 05: Trek to Marlung, (4137m) 05 hours.
Day 06: Trek to Lungdeng (4600m) 04 hours.
Day 07: Trek to Renjo- La (17,929ft / 5465m) to Gokyo Lake (4,800m) 07 hrs.
Day 08: Rest day at Gokyo Lake preparation for the next pass.
Day 09: Hike to Gokyo Ri 5,330 m / 17,483 ft, and trek to Thagnag
(4,750 m / 15,580ft) 04 hrs.
Day 10: Cross Cho-la Pass 5,367 m / 17,604 ft and to Dzongla
(4,850m / 15,908ft) 07 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Lobuche (4,930 m) 05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Gorak Shep (5,170 m / 16,961ft) and to Everest Base Camp
(5,364m/17,594ft) and back to GorakShep 07hrs.
Day 13: Hike to Kala-Pathhar (5,545 m /18,192 ft) and trek to Lobuche
(4930 m) 04 hrs afternoon free preparation for the next final pass.
Day 14: Trek to Kongma La (5,535m / 18,159ft) Dingboche
4,340m / 14, 675ft) 07 hrs.
Day 15: Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m / 12,660 ft) 05 hrs.
Day 16: Trek to Monjo 2,830m) via Namche Bazaar 06 hrs.
Day 17: Trek to Lukla with afternoon free.
Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu & transfer to hotel.

Day 01:  Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival in Kathmandu, you are warmly greeted by our Sherpa Mountaineering Expeditions staff at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). SME representatives will assist then transfer to respective hotels.

Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour.

In Kathmandu sightseeing program includes visit of world heritage sites the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the world biggest Stuppa; Boudhhanath, known as little Tibet, Swoyambhunath Stupa (monkey temple) located on a hill side one of the oldest religious spot of more than 2,500 years old and historical Kathmandu Durbar Square with unique architectural temple, and the virgin Kumari known as Living Goddess in Basantapur atf central Kathmandu. Kathmandu is not only naturally beautiful but it also holds the beauty of incredible Newar people culture with ancient architectures.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,886m), & trek to Phakding (2640m.), 3 hr
Moring a super scenic flight of near 35 minutes bring you at Lukla. Lukla airport is also known as Tenzing –Hillary Airport and Luka is assessable either by air or by trek from the old classic route by Jiri or from Arun Valley, from Lukla start our trek to Phakding for overnight stop.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m. 06 hrs.

On this day we walk up to the bank of the Dudh Koshi River and cross the suspension bridge. A few hours of trek will take us to the entrance gate to visit National Park, Monjo. We further walk for few hours to reach Namche. Namche is a prosperous trading town and the capital of the Khumbu Region with many Nepalese officials, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a police check, post and a bank, a bakery and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday. You can buy your essential climbing equipments and other stuffs here in Namche if needed, overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 05:  Rest at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion

Namche is the perfect place for the acclimatization. Spending an extra day in Namche helps to acclimatize our body in higher altitude and avoid the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Namche is also a mesmerizing market hub where one can explore its vicinity and make further plans for the trip.

Day 06: Trek to Thame 3,880m 04 hours.

A moderate short trek leafs slowly to Thame, encountering many monasteries on route, morning walk through the forest and follow Bhote Koshi River to reach the village of Thamu, then following the river to reach a small suspension bridge, with awesome Bhuddhist Rock Wall Paintings on the wall at the hill, crossing the bridge, trek for less than half hour to reach the small settlement of Thame.
Thame is famous for being the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay (one of the first person to climb over Mt. Everest) and of Apa Sherpa a record holder climbing 20th time on top of Mt. Everest.

Day 07: Trek to Marlung 4,137 m  04 hours.

Leaving Thame, head to Marlung following the Bhote Koshi River, passing the villages like Thyangmoche and Hungmo, and then trekking through only few houses and less vegetation on the way towards alpine zone. The trail crosses the village of Taranga, through the yak field to reach Marlung village for the overnight stop.

Day 08: Trek to Lungdeng 4,600 m  03 hours.

Morning walk leads to Lungden passing through very old, authentic Himalayan Villages that blends into the surrounding landscape; on the trail of old salt trade route between Nepal and Tibet, and then walking for few more hours to reach the small village of Lungdeng for overnight stop in Lungden.

Day 09: Trek to Renjo- La 5,465 m / 17,929 ft and to Gokyo 4,800 m 07 hrs.

Leaving Lungden, following the trail leading to the frozen ponds below Renjo La pass, offering fantastic views of Mt.Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche, and then cross Renjo La pass, the most difficult section of this trekking to reach the valley of Gokyo for overnight stop.

Day 10: Rest day at Gokyo Lake.

A rest day which allows you to acclimatize better in this high altitude, with time to explore the surrounding area of this valley with stunning scenery of the first and the second lake of Gokyo.

Day 11: Hike to Gokyo Ri  at 5,330 m /17,483 ft and trek to Thangnag 4,750 m / 15,580 f  o5 hrs.

Today early morning hike to Gokyo Ri for mind blowing views of Mt.Everest,
Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho-Oyu the worlds  01st, 04th, 05th and 06th highest mountain in one lot with other smaller peaks around including the beautiful Gokyo Lake and Khumbu’s longest Ngzumba glacier which starts from the base of Mt.Cho Oyu  that straddles the border  with Tibet, after a grand moment walk back to Gokyo and continue trek to Thangnag walking along the glacier moraines, follow the trail and reach the small settlement of Thangnag  for overnight stop.

Day 12: Cross Cho-la 5,367m / 17,604 f and to Dzongla 4,850 m 06 hrs.

After an early breakfast follow the trail that leads steep ascend and then crossing the glacier on the eastern side. The pass stands at an elevation of 5,367m and is quite challenging to cross ( in snow conditions), with views of impressive high mountains and of Cholatse Glacier and its small lake on the way to Dzongla for the overnight stop.

Day 13: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m o5 hrs.

Leaving Dzongla follow the trail that descends to yak herder’s pastures. The trail climbs up to the terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier, and continues till it reaches at Lobuche for overnight stop, a small settlement with 08-10 lodges.

Day 14:  Trek to Gorakshep 5,170 m / 16,961 ft and to Everest Base Camp 5, 364 m / 17,594 ft and return back to Gorakshep. 07hrs.

The trail today is quite challenging but offers mesmerizing views of Mt. Everest the highest point on this planet at 8,848 meters / 29,028 ft.  On reaching at Gorakshep following the moraine and ice path, Gorakshep with 04 lodges the last lodge before Everest Base Camp after break here continue to Everest Base Camp walking along moraine below the Khumbu Icefall to reach Everest Base Camp. After spending some time in base camp, return back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.

Day 15:  Hike to Kalapatthar 5,545 m /18,192 ft and return to Lobuche.
Early morning start climb to Kalapatthar for the stunning view of Mt. Everest and its surroundings peaks. Kalapatthar is the vantage point for views of the entire south face of Mt. Everest and other high mountains, after spending some moments here a gentle descend to the small settlement of Lobuche for the overnight stop, with afternoon free for sidewalks.

Day 16:  Trek and traverse Kongma La 5,535 m / 18,159 ft and to Dingboche  4, 330m / 14, 675 ft) 07 hrs.

Leaving Lobuche, head towards Imjatse valley at Dingboche village; enjoy the remoteness and perfect wilderness of the area with harsh beautiful nature, on route.  with beautiful views of Amphu Lapcha, Island peak, and traversing the highest pass of this trip the Kongma La pass at 5, 545 meters after a great moment here descend towards Imjatse valley and to Dingboche for the overnight stop after a hard trek and climb of near 08 hrs.

Day 17: Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m / 12,660 ft  05 hrs.

Leaving Dingboche and Imjatse valley with grand views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse wall, Lhotse, Makalu and Island peak then head towards the famed Tynagboche with its beautiful monastery and striking scenery views, reaching back at lush vegetation and tree lines after being in arid terrain for a week or more, the final leg of this walk leads to a climb for an hour to Thyangboche offering grand views of peaks that surrounds this lovely spot with its monastery.

Day 18:  Trek to Monjo 2,880 m via Namche Bazaar  06hrs.

After breakfast a short downhill to Imjatse River after the bridge a steep climb for an hour with gradual winding trail all the way to Namche Bazaar, after Namce its all all downhill to the Dudh Kosi River bed and with few short ups to enter the Sagarmatha National park to exit towards Monjo for the overnight stop in this small nice village.

Day 19: Trek to Lukla 05 hrs.
The last day walk of this great adventure with easy gradual trail through the village of Phakding following the Dudh Kosi, after crossing the bridge at Phakding a nice pleasant trek with few short up and downs to Lukla, on reaching Lukla the last dinner with the trekking staffs and porters.

Day 20: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
The flight time to Kathmandu, are schedule for morning normally, because of the wind in the afternoon, sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason, depending upon the flight time make way to the terminal for security check, this scenic flight from Lukla takes about 30 minutes to Kathmandu, a panoramic view of the snow capped peaks can be seen during the flight. Arriving at Kathmandu domestic terminal, our staff will receive and transfer you back to Hotel.

Day 21: Free day at leisure.
A free day in Kathmandu, please inform our staff if you would like to go on another short tour in and around Kathmandu Valley.

Day 22: Transfer to airport for international departure.
Today as per your international flight time, keep your confirmed air ticket, and your passport handy. Our staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.
