Trek & Climb of Singu Chuli (Fluted Peak) 2024

Introduction:

Singu Chuli first seen and recorded by Jimmy Roberts in 1956 by when he was exploring the area on a reconnaissance trip for British Machapuchhere Expedition in 1957, located in the heart of Annapurna Himalayan range at the Gandaki Zone its location at 28 36 18 Latitude & 83 57 00 Longitude. Singu Chuli also known as Fluted peak can be views only from the Sanctuary itself, it is an attractive peak; part of the ridge line, flung south from Glacier Dome which includes and acts as a central divider between the semi-circles of peaks enclosing the Sanctuary. The peak is sometimes confused with Rakhsi Peak, a small summit and viewpoint above the normal high camp. From the top of this peak summit offers striking views almost all within the Annapurna Sanctuary peaks that surrounds.

POKHARA VALLEY:

Pokhara is one of the most unique sub-tropical valley in the Himalaya and probably in the world, where one can marvel the beauty of the Himalayan landscape and reflection of the Annapurna massif including the towering majestic peak of Mt. Machapuchhere on its beautiful lakes.. Pokhara is situated in the mid western Nepal. It is linked by the main highway of 200 km driving distance from Kathmandu, and by air approximately 20 to 30 minutes flight with a sweeping panoramic views of the mid east to western Himalayan ranges.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu 1,300m and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with half day sightseeing tour.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 220 k.m. 6 hrs
Day 04: An hour drives to Kande and trek to Landruk 1,500m. 05 hrs
Day 05: Trek to Chomrong 1,951m. 06 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,400m 06 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,720m 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,095m. 03 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to MBC and to Singu Chuli Base Camp 4,300m 05 hrs.
Day 10: At base camp preparation for the climb.
Day 11: Trek to Singu Chuli high camp 4,900m. 04 hrs.

Trip dossier:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Adventure Mission Nepal guide will meet you on arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and with complimentary transport transfer you to respective Hotels, then SME guide will brief of the Hotel, Kathmandu, Trekking, do’s and don’ts related information that you might require while in Nepal with Adventure Mission Nepal.

Day 02: In Kathmandu a half day sightseeing tour.
On the first day or night in Kathmandu, you will be well informed regarding the time for your sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 950m 5-6 hours journey 220 k.m.
Morning travel by bus or a car to Pokhara on the scenic highway, an interesting drive on the foothills of the Himalaya, on reaching at Pokhara transfer to respective Hotels near by the Lake Phewa for the overnight stay.

Day 04: Drive to Kande trek to Landrung / Landruk 1,500m 06 hrs.
A morning short drive on the outskirt of Pokhara valley to Kande a road side village, trekking begins for about 05 hours leading to an hour uphill towards Australian Camp also known as Thulo-Kharka a Sheppard’s summer pasture walking in the cool thin forests on reaching Thulo Khraka it is almost downhill to Pothana then with an hour up to Deurali a nice scenic spot with grand views, from here it is all downhill with nice gradual winding path to Landruk village along with superb views of the landscapes and Annapurna South with Huinchuli. .

Day 05: Trek to Chomrong 1,951m 06 hrs.
From Landruk village trek starts on the downhill path towards Modi Khola which flows from Annapurna Base Camp walk follows the river upstream reaching at Nayapul (New Bridge) a bridge and a small village by its name From here it is uphill all the way Jinwa village and to the top of Chomrong.

On completing the uphill then a short descends on stone steps brings at Chomrong village for the overnight stop. Chomrong village situated in the small valley just beneath the peaks of Annapurna south, this is the last permanent village on route Annapurna Base Camp & the Sanctuary.

06: Trek to Dovan 2,130m 06 hrs.
After Chomrong trek leads to terraced fields descending to the river, after the bridge it’s uphill for near two hours to Sinwa-danda, from here another 02 hours to reach Bamboo forest and the lodges around a in the midst of bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest, walk continues for an hour to the overnight stop at Dovan, an isolated spot with few lodges in the midst of forest near by the raging Modi River.

Day 07: Trek to Machapuchhere Base Camp 3,720m 06 hrs.
Today’s path leads at the entrance and exit point of the Annapurna Sanctuary from here walk leads in the cool forest on the winding up-hill trail most of the way following Modi River upstream with ups and down to Himalaya Hotel near Hinko cave at the bottom of Huinchuli peak. Himalaya Hotel a small place with 2-3 lodges. Walk follows up hill for another few hours to Deurali the only lodge in between Machapuchhere Base Camp. From here vegetation disappears for only high alpine flora and shrubs. Trek continues up hills for another few hours to reach Machapuchhere Base Camp for the overnight stop.

Machapuchhere Base Camp with 05 lodges at present beneath the towering North Face of Mt.Macchhapuchere 6,990 meters (Fish Tail).

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,095m 04 hrs.
Morning walk in the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary with its Base Camp, walk follows uphill for few hours on the grassy path, this pleasant trek reaches the higher ground with super panorama views of peaks that surrounds around with Annapurna I, a rock and ice wall mountain, looking from North West Face. Annapurna Base Camp has few large lodges with super views.

Day 09: Trek to MBC and on route Singu Chuli Base Camp 4,200m 06 hrs.
From Annapurna Base Camp retrace the walk back to Machapuchhere Base Camp, from MBC path leads to cross rubble-strewn snout of South Annapurna glacier and then following the Modi Khola on its right bank until it joins by a another small stream from west part of Annapurna glacier, following the north-west path over moraines and grassy meadows to a overhang rock cave to the base camp for the climb of Singu Chuli / Fluted Peak summit.

Day 10: Rest day preparation for the climb.
A necessary rest day for the climb of Singu Chuli or Fluted Peak

Day 11: Trek to Singu Chuli High Camp at 4,900m 03 hrs.
Trek and climb from base camp to the hill-side above the glacier that flattens forming a grassy shelf, from here climb continues along this shelf to a point where Singu chuli forms a long, low rock ridge, south-east towards the west Annapurna glacier, High Camp is made under this ridge.

Day 12: Climb of North East Face of Singu-chuli or Fluted Peak.
The final day climb to the summit leads to a traverse round the skyline ridge, and then reaching a plateau beneath the North East Face, after it leads to a vertical wall of 122m, climbing to skirt a serac barrier leading to a steep step to a shelf to be climbed without difficulty beneath the gently fluted top section of the face and the upper portion of East Ridge, Then following with less effort to the summit top, offering striking scenery that encircles around with snow capped peaks and Mt.Macchhapuchere in close distance, after a memorable adventure to the summit descend back to base camp.

Day 13: Trek to Deurali 3,360m 06 hrs.
Morning walk leads back to MBC after a great adventure in isolated corner of Singuchuli area from here retrace the trek to Deurali and back in the comfort of cosy lodge.

Day 14: Trek to Chomrong 06 hrs.
From Deurali retrace trail back to Chomrong village.

Day 15: Trek to Ghandruk 1,750m 05 hrs.
After Chomrong, a short climb then downhill to Kimche Khola valley, from Kimche Valley then with a climb taking for an hour to Kimrong danda with few teahouses / lodges. From here a gradual descend reaches to Ghandruk village for overnight stop.

Day 16: Trek and drive to Pokhara. 3-4 hrs walks with 2 hours drive.
Last day walk descending on wide stone path through farm villages of Kimche till Syali Bazaar is reached, from here the path leads on the gentle winding trail following the River Modi all the way to Nayapul. From Nayapul a driving journey for two hours to Pokhara overnight in the comfort of the Hotel by the Lake Fewa after an adventurous memory in perfect wilderness.

Day 17: Transfer to Airport for the flight back to Kathmandu.
As per the flight time a scenic short flight brings back to Kathmandu our staff will transfer you to respective hotels, afternoon free for last minute shopping.

Day 18: Transfer to airport for international departure.
Today an end in Nepal till next visit with great memories to marvel, SME staff will transfer you to the Kathmandu International airport for final departure
